What You'll Do :
This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, talented and growing organization as an Accounting Manager. This role will primarily be responsible for managing the month-end close process, managing aspects of the general ledger and ERP system, ensuring compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and other frameworks, supporting audits, and other ad hoc projects. A successful candidate will be highly motivated, have strong leadership and communication skills, and a willingness to learn and take on a variety of assignments. This role provides an opportunity for professional growth as Kailera continues to evolve and mature.
Responsibilities :
- Ensure accuracy of financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies and procedures
- Perform monthly and quarterly close procedures, including preparing / reviewing journal entries and preparing / reviewing balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies and procedures
- Oversee and review the bank reconciliation process, fixed asset module process and other close-related processes such as Prepaid Expenses, Accounts Payable, Accrued Expenses), etc.
- Prepare Research and Development, Clinical, and Manufacturing activities related to the monthly and quarterly close process
- Perform balance sheet and income statement variance analyses for related responsible close areas
- Assist with the maintenance of the general ledger, including account, department and project coding
- Manage, mentor and provide feedback to a direct report
- Support the finance team in coordination with external auditors for both financial statement audits and internal control testing by providing appropriate documentation and resolving inquiries
- Work collaboratively, within finance, cross-functionally and with vendors, to achieve monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc deliverables
- Work collaboratively, both within finance and cross-functionally, to support the development and maintenance of an effective system of internal controls
- Support the finance team and the company with various analyses and ad hoc projects
- Assist with special projects, such as system implementations and business process improvements, as necessary
