Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership & Excellence
- Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that drives measurable student achievement.
- Develop high-quality, rigorous lesson plans, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments that align with school goals.
- Regularly analyze data to inform instructional decisions, interventions, and supports.
- Provide daily meaningful feedback to students tailored to their individual academic needs.
Student & Community Relationships
- Build deep, authentic relationships with students and families to support students' holistic development and persistence at Kairos.
- Maintain proactive, transparent, and consistent communication with families regarding student progress.
- Mentor and advise students regularly through advisory sessions and structured 1-1 check-ins.
- Actively contribute to cultivating a strong school culture grounded in Kairos core values: Love, Excellence, Agency, and Diversity.
Whole-School Service & Leadership
- Engage proactively in whole-school service obligations beyond your classroom role, shaping school culture and community engagement. Example roles include Grade-Level Lead, Community Lead, SEL Lead, Content Lead, and more.
- Embrace Kairos' collaborative professional community, supporting peers' instructional growth and participating in professional learning communities (PLCs) and coaching check-ins.

- Above State Average Proficiency (on/above grade level) on Missouri MAP/EOC Assessments.
- 70% growth on NWEA MAP (national benchmark assessments).

- Ability to occasionally exert 20-50 pounds, frequently exert 10-25 pounds.
- Comfortable using instructional technology extensively throughout the day.

Work Environment
- Active, dynamic classroom and school environment with varying noise levels and frequent interactions.
- This is not a remote position—all Kairos teachers deliver instruction in-person and onsite at our St. Louis campus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Missouri Substitute Certification (required).
- Valid Missouri Teacher Certification is strongly preferred or willing to obtain promptly.
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience is preferred.
- Successful completion of criminal records check annually.
- Eligible to work in the United States.

Salary Bands
- Exemplary ($80,000 )
- Advanced ($70,000–$79,999)
- Professional ($60,000–$69,999)
- The starting salary for all qualified teacher assistant candidates begins at a competitive minimum of $45,000 annually.
- (Specific placement within bands depends on points earned in our evaluation system.)

Work Schedule & Location
- In-person role at Kairos Academies (St. Louis, MO 63118).
- Monday – Friday: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (School Leaders select times for teachers between this window)
- Participation in select evening/weekend school-community events is expected.
