Kaiser Logistics, Inc., a provider of OTR LTL open deck freight transportation and consolidation services, is seeking a hard-working, highly motivated professional for the position of Carrier Representative.
In this role, you'll be responsible for securing transportation solutions through our primary carrier or our network of vetted secondary carriers. This position plays a key role in delivering great service to our customers by ensuring each shipment is covered by the right carrier at the right price, every time.
Job Responsibilities
- Source and secure carriers for our customers' shipments.
- Negotiate rates with carriers based on current market trends and profitability goals.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with carriers to build loyalty and consistent service.
- Track freight and provide shipment updates to the Sales and Operations Teams.
- Communicate service expectations clearly and follow up to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all carrier interactions and load information using software platforms.
- Ensure compliance with insurance and safety requirements for all carriers.
- Collaborate with the sales and account management teams to understand customer needs and priorities.
- Identify and address potential service issues or carrier capacity challenges proactively.
Qualifications:
- 1 years of experience in a freight brokerage or carrier sales environment (preferred).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple loads and relationships at once.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with platforms such as RMIS, DAT, and general carrier onboarding practices. (preferred)
- A proactive attitude with the ability to problem-solve in real time.
- Knowledge of open deck trailer types and freight securement (a plus).
This is a full-time Monday-Friday position, with a typical expected work schedule of 45 hours per week, with the possibility of up to 50 during peak business volume.
Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
