Job Description

Job Title : Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP / PA)

Location : Clackamas, OR

Term : 3-6 months with option to extend

Schedule : Monday- Friday. OR - 7 : 00a-3 : 45p or Inpatient Rounding 7 : 15a-3 : 45p.

Pay Rate : $195-205 / hr

Job Summary :

A hospital in Clackamas, OR is looking for nurse practitioners or physician assistants to cover a vacancy. Providers can expect 2 operating room cases per day or 10-15 patients per day if rounding.

Requirements of a Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP / PA) :

Active OR Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License

Nurse Practitioners must have RNFA Certification

BLS Certification

Responsibilities of a Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP / PA) :

Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) and first assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures.

Pull epicardial wires and manage chest tubes postoperatively.

Conduct vein and radial artery harvesting for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).

Assist in the operating room with suturing, hemostasis, and tissue manipulation.

Monitor and manage patients in the ICU and step-down units, ensuring post-surgical recovery.

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes.

Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including wound management and patient education.
