Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and/or President and Chief Executive Officer, the Accounting Manager is integral to our continued success. This position is a great fit for a hands-on leader with the skills and leadership ability to be a Department Manager.
Essential Duties
- Hands-on, working manager
- Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Collections, and Payroll
- Responsible for general ledger activities including journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare, review, and submit periodic financial reports
- Analyze and report on financial statement variances
- Implement and monitor ongoing accounting schedules
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and collaborate with leadership to implement change
- Assist in development of budgets and forecasts
- Engage in ongoing cost reduction analysis
- Train new and existing Accounting staff depending on business need
- Manage month-end, quarterly and year-end close process
- Responsible for preparing sales and use tax and franchise tax returns
- Lead year end audit / review initiatives
- Maintain documented accounting policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on numbers and data entry
- Strong ability to work with MS Office applications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred) OR
- Associate's degree in accounting or finance (required)
- 2 of accounting supervisory experience (required)
- 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, construction or manufacturing (preferred)
This is an on-site, full-time position. The schedule is typically Monday to Friday with some weekends, up to or above 50 hours per week dependent on business need. This is an exempt, salaried position and is eligible for benefits and PTO in accordance with Company policy.
Candidate must pass a pre-employment background check and physical.
Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
