Job Summary:
Direct support to dentists, hygienists, and other provider personnel in Kaiser Permanente dental offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform duties of a dental assistant under the observation of a licensed provider, including applying topical anesthetics, removing sutures, and retracting tissue.
- Assist with procedures such as placing and removing rubber dams, taking impressions, and polishing teeth.
- Organize patient records, greet patients, and inform them of treatment procedures.
- Anticipate providers' needs, communicate effectively, and maintain a clean operating field.
- Expose and process dental radiographs, take blood pressure readings, and perform other tasks as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- One year of experience as a dental assistant or graduation from an ADA-accredited program.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Additional Requirements:
- Demonstrated competence in four-handed dentistry technique.
- Knowledge and proficiency in current dental materials, instruments, and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Pass a clinical pre-employment skills test.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of sterilization and infection control equipment.
Work Schedule:
- Days/Times vary.
- Travel to various locations, including Oregon City, Clackamas, Glisan, Rockwood, Gresham, and Eastmoreland dental offices.
