Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed providers in delivering dental care, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and adhering to infection control guidelines.
- Prepare patients for procedures, obtain vital signs, and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure optimal care and outcomes.
- Anticipate provider needs, maintain a organized workspace, and ensure efficient workflow.
- Stay up-to-date with continuing education requirements, adhere to regulatory standards, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum one year of experience as a dental assistant or completion of an ADA-accredited program.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
License, Certification, Registration:
- Dental Radiation Proficiency Certificate (Oregon)
- Pit and Fissure Sealant Certificate (Oregon) within six months of hire
- Expanded Function Dental Assistant Certificate (Oregon) within three months of hire
- Basic Life Support within three months of hire
- Demonstrated competence in four-handed dentistry technique.
- Satisfactory level of knowledge and proficiency in use of current dental materials, instruments, and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions, work effectively under direct and indirect supervision, and maintain a well-organized workspace.
- Excellent attendance record and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Final candidate required to pass a clinical pre-employment skills test.
