Job Summary
To provide high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services in a hospital and clinical setting, including OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular superficial structures. Additionally, clerical duties are required to be performed in a manner that promotes team concepts and reflects the organization's mission and philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing diagnostic procedures using knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the age of the patient served, including routine, emergent, portable, and surgical examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Effective communication with radiologists is essential.
- Assisting patients and transporting them as needed.
- Exam review, filing work, restocking supplies, cleaning, and quality assurance functions are also part of this role.
Qualifications
- A graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasonographer program or 2 years of previous ultrasound experience is required.
- A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) is necessary.
License, Certification, Registration
- A Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn or Abdomen from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers is required at hire.
- Sonography Technologist License (Oregon) is also necessary.
- Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire is mandatory.
Additional Requirements
- Oregon Board of Medical Imaging License is required for positions assigned in Oregon.
- Daily use of diagnostic equipment, imaging, and health care computer systems is essential.
- Customer-focused service skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
