To provide diagnostic services in a hospital and/or clinical setting, including clerical duties as required. All work should promote team concepts and reflect the organization's Mission and philosophy.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Performing diagnostic radiological procedures using diagnostic radiographic equipment.
- Utilizing skills and abilities for the patient's age to include routine, emergent, portable, surgical, and fluoroscopic examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Image processing is also involved.
- Understanding and utilizing the current RIS and PACS system.
- Working under the supervision of a radiologist on an as-needed basis.
- Collaborating with a radiologist on film quality assurance, exam clarification, and other tasks.
- Performing ECG as required.
- Patient transport and file management are also responsibilities.
- Restocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness are daily tasks.
- Responsible for patient registration and scheduling.
- Participating in on-call or standby schedules as required.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
- A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required.
License, Certification, Registration:
- A Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon) or Certified Radiologic Technologist (Washington) is required.
- Basic Life Support certification within one month of hire is necessary.
- Radiologic Technologist Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required at the time of hire.
- Daily use of diagnostic equipment, imaging, and healthcare computer systems.
- Providing customer-focused service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for interacting with all personnel.
- Proficient knowledge of radiology equipment and exams to perform fluoroscopy, DXA, surgery, portable, and routine radiographic exams.
- Organizational skills, including time management, prioritization, planning, attention to detail, problem-solving, decision-making, judgment, technical skills, initiative, communication, interpersonal skills, customer relations, and organizational relations.
- Adaptability, following policies and procedures, and flexibility are essential.
- Experience performing general radiographic exams using digital equipment within the last three years.
- Experience with McKesson PACS.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Associates degree in Radiologic Science or a related field.
