Principal Responsibilities:

The Philly J is looking for a part-time seasonal STEM/Science Specialist for our in-person day camp in Wynnewood this summer! Camp runs for 8 weeks Monday-Friday with flexible hours between 8am-4pm from June 23rd until August 15th. We are looking for a commitment of 16-24 hours per week making this the perfect part-time summer teaching role.

As a STEM Specialist at our summer camp, you'll lead kids ages 5-13 through engaging and hands-on activities related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. You will create activities for campers to explore STEM topics through experiments, projects, and games. Our ideal candidate has experience working with kids and can come up with fun and age appropriate activities and curriculum. All materials for activities will be supplied. Pay starts at $15/h and can vary based on experience.

This role would be perfect for a recently graduated college student with a degree in science or education or someone with teaching experience in a school or preschool looking for a summer gig. You do not need to have a degree for this role but classroom experience is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Work hours: 8am - 4pm (16-24 hours per week)
• Must be at least 21 years old with 2 years of college experience
• 1-3 years experience with children preferably in a classroom setting
• 1-3 years experience in Science, STEM, Education, or other related field
• Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities
• Must be able to obtain background clearances, FBI fingerprinting, and child abuse clearance
• Ability to commute daily to Wynnewood, PA for the duration of the summer
