Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Assembly and Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves the assembly, troubleshooting, testing, and installation of automated conveyance systems specifically designed for the food and beverage industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience in automation, and a commitment to ensuring system reliability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble various types of conveyance systems using engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conduct thorough testing of assembled systems to ensure functionality and adherence to quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with conveyance systems during assembly and post-installation.
- Install conveyance systems at customer sites, ensuring proper integration with existing processes.
- Provide on-site technical support and maintenance services to customers.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to enhance system design based on assembly and field experiences.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installation processes, system issues, and solutions provided.
- Train customers on the operation and maintenance of conveyance systems.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and standards throughout assembly and installation processes.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree or certification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in assembling and installing automated systems, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to solve mechanical and electrical problems.
- Excellent understanding of mechanical systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
- Willingness to travel extensively to client sites, including overnight stays. Travel requirement is up to 50%, with an average of 30%.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various industrial environments.
- Forklift experience and certification is preferred.
- Commitment to maintaining professional and ethical work standards.
Additional Skills:
- High level of experience with 480V three-phase electrical systems.
- Proficiency in working with 24VDC control systems.
- PLC knowledge is a strong plus, enhancing the ability to troubleshoot and maintain complex automation systems.
