General Description:
The purpose of this position is to give individuals on the job training and familiarity with NDE inspection processes. NDE Trainees work directly under the guidance and direction of a Level II Technician and report directly to the Inspection Foreman.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skilled with communication.

Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Pass a Background Check and Drug Screen
- North Slope Training Cooperative Card is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IRATA LVL1 is preferred.
- IRRSP or State Card is preferred.
Work Environment:
Work extended hours in sub-zero temperatures. Overtime will be required.

The overall physical health of the Individual should be well enough to allow them to do the following:
- MOBILITY: While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses computers on a daily basis. He/she is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Climb stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolding up to 100 feet multiple times per day, utilizing three points of contact.
- Be able to safely carry up to 65 pounds with one hand. Must be able to climb stairs/scaffolding/ladder while holding handrail with opposite hand.
- Be able to work at heights up to 100 feet.
- Be able to work in a crouched position for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds while in the crouched position.
- Be able to lift up to 65 pounds with a rope using hand-over-hand technique.
- Be able to work in confined spaced and repetitively bend and/or twist through small entryways.
- Be able to carry and effectively manipulate a twelve-to-sixteen foot ladder.
- Be able to occasionally lift up to 65 pounds to shoulder level.
- Be able to walk, climb on and maneuver on or around piping, piping supports and while working in a crouched position.
- Must have hand dexterity to manipulate camera source cranks.
- Arm strength push/pull up to 75 pounds; leg strength, up to 175 pounds.
- HEARING: The employee frequently is required to talk or hear while answering phones, working with customers, clients, supervisors, etc.
- VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner. Ability to see and complete work on a personal computer and read color coded writing on equipment forms, etc.
