Kalahari Resorts & Conventions delivers a beyond expectations waterpark resort and conference experience all under one roof. The authentically African-inspired resort is home to America's largest indoor waterparks and features well-appointed guest rooms, full-service Spa Kalahari, a fun-filled family entertainment center, on-site signature restaurants, unique retail shops and a state-of-the-art convention center.
We are inviting you to apply for our open Convention Services Manager position. In this role, you'll service assigned groups and special events, preparing both types for successful event execution. In this role you will work closely with event planners by planning the details of their agenda, room set up and menu design. The key to being successful is to ensure that a “beyond expectations” experience is delivered. Additionally, you'll optimize revenue goals by suggesting menu enhancements that align with clients' needs.
We offer a base pay plus commission compensation model. You'll receive a base salary, commensurate with experience, along with revenue-based commission opportunities, allowing you to grow your income based on your success.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in a hotel/resort with event space of at least 20,000 sq. Ft. and heavy group volume is required.
- 2-5 years of catering manager/conference services manager or similar event planning experience.
- Experience detailing & managing large (1000 people), complex multi-day events with many moving parts.
- Experience with negotiating changes in complex programs.
- Skilled multi-tasker.
- Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Sales experience to up-sell food, beverage, and meeting room services.
