GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to design, develop, and implement public health education programs. Coordinates training. Serves as a liaison and assists medical professionals, community health partners, and individuals. Develops and executes marketing and promotional strategies. Performs research and develops reports. Makes referrals to other community resources. Performs outreach and recruitment for eligible participants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assesses community needs; sets goals and objectives; and designs, develops, and implements public programs.
- Collects, prepares, and presents oral or written technical reports to supervisors, staff, medical professionals, and community members.
- Researches solutions and implementation strategies to improve community health.
- Serves as a community health liaison and facilitator; collaborates with community organizations to deliver education and support services to promote public health.
- Crafts marketing strategies and tactics to publicize public health programs and initiatives.
- Participates in health fairs, conferences, and other community outreach activities.
- Designs, develops, and administer evaluation instruments to assess the effectiveness of health promotion programs in the community.
- Responds to public health emergencies as required by the department or division administration.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with diverse individuals, organizations, and other professionals to coordinate and improve health programs and services.
- Researches and applies for grant opportunities
- Performs related work as required.
Healthy Babies/Healthy Start
- Designs, develops and implements educational programming focused on women’s, infant, and family health.
- Performs outreach and recruitment into MCH programs for eligible participants
- Connects families to resources and home-visiting support programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of related work experience in policy development, community programming, and communicable diseases
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities

- None required
