Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries is a NICOTINE FREE MINISTRY.

We desire that all applicants feel comfortable in a Christian environment. All Staff members participate in prayer and Bible Study and need to be comfortable with a lifestyle of prayer and worship that is integrated into day-to-day job functions. General Description:

The Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries is a privately funded 501(c)3 non-profit, evangelical Christian ministry. Our designated purpose is religious, and we are a Christ-centered ministry which is dedicated to sharing the Gospel and helping the homeless and impoverished. We consider every position to be essential in the fulfillment of our ministry and statement of purpose. As such, each employee must have a relationship with Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

Essential Functions:

• As a member of staff, uphold, promote, and encourage, in word and deed, desired organizational culture and values; purposefully seek to establish and maintain a culture that is based on grace and affirms and advances KGM’s vision and purpose.
• Alert the Outreach Specialist of any changes or concerns within the department.
• Maintain constant communication while on shift as needed.
• Ability to drive and handle the shower trailer in a safe manner.
• Clean showers and laundry machines after each use.
• Replenish supplies as needed.
• Hand out shower and laundry supplies.
• Interact with volunteers and guests in a loving and caring manner.
• Incorporate Biblical principles into interactions with guests and other staff that build positive and productive relationships.
• Must exercise utmost diplomacy and tact to provide excellent guest service, practicing confidentiality and privacy protocol in accordance with Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries Policies.
• Perform simple yet effective first aid care in emergencies.
• Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
• Performs all duties as may be required.
• Adhere to the policies and procedures of the Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries.

• Highly ethical with the ability to make smart, timely decisions.
• Ability to construct written correspondence which is both clear and concise.
• Ability to communicate extremely well both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and accuracy in preparing and entering information.
• Ability to handle difficult guests with firm grace and love. Representing Christ and the Ministry in all interactions
• Excellent organization skills.

Working Conditions/Physical Factors:

Occasionally = 1%-33%; Frequently = 34%-66%; Continuously = 67%-100%

• Standing/Walking/Lifting up to 25 lbs.

Equipment/Tools Used:

• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass KGM drivers test and meet KGM insurance standards.

Education/Experience and/or Certification:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
