General Objective: As a Pharmacy Inventory Assistant, you will play a critical role in maintaining efficient inventory management processes within the pharmacy. Your responsibilities will include conducting managing inventory placement, assisting with medication handling, dashboard monitoring, and expiration management. You will work closely with pharmacy staff to ensure compliance with proper management of inventory to support smooth pharmacy operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure all checked-in products are placed on production shelves promptly and accurately.
- Notify the supervisor if a pickup of waste is needed.
- Manage trash and cardboard recycling processes efficiently.
- Maintain awareness of the SHARPS disposal calendar and follow proper packaging procedures.
- Ensure safe and appropriate disposal of sharps materials.
- Assist Pharmacist and Production in handling medications as needed.
- Help put back medications and assist with pulling medications for compliance packaging.
- Monitor the pharmacy dashboard for all scheduled delivery times, ensuring awareness of deliveries within 20 minutes of scheduled times.
- Regularly check product shelves for expiring medications.
- Alert the Inventory Lead of any expired medications for proper disposal or removal from inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
Regulatory Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy Technician License required
- 1-2 years of Inventory experience preferred
Skills:
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Knowledge of basic computer programs and processes and related technology.
- Knowledge of pharmacy software and programs.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. A strong understanding of basic Algebraic principles is preferred.
- Exhibit objectivity and openness to others' views; give and welcome feedback; contribute to building a positive team spirit.
- Ability to focus on detail and be thorough in completing work tasks.
- Ability to understand medical terminology
- Ability to operate general office equipment such as a telephone, copier, etc.
