The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) is a critical part of Michigan’s education system serving the Greater Kalamazoo region and provides specialized services to schools and communities and optimizes resources by centralizing innovative programs and services. We partner with school districts and the broader community to offer essential programs including early childhood education, special education, career learning, and educator development, ensuring that learners of all ages receive the support they need.
We are currently seeking a Technology Support Specialist at Allegan Public Schools in Allegan, Michigan.
The essential responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
· Resolve help desk requests, provide regular updates, status, and completion information so end users are well informed
· Deploy, configure, and repair Windows laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, mobile devices, monitors, printers, phones, etc.
· Troubleshoot and repair connectivity issues with wired and wireless networks
· Provide level 1 support on educational and productivity applications such as Google Workspaces, Office 365, etc.
· Mount or replace wireless access points, telephones, surveillance cameras and card readers in collaboration with the network team
· Support classroom technology and audio-visual systems including interactive displays, wireless projection, projectors, document cameras, sound systems
· Perform initial troubleshooting and support for door access controls
· Replace UPS batteries as directed by the network team
· Troubleshoot, clean, and aim surveillance cameras
· Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of district devices and parts
· Provide support at other districts as needed
· Train and mentor new technology support specialists
· Assist the helpdesk, network and systems teams as needed
· Follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
· Regular and consistent attendance
· Other duties may be assigned
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma/GED, a CompTIA A Certification, or related relevant experience and/or training.
Technical certifications are preferred; examples include CompTIA, Microsoft, Google, AWS, Rukus, Avigilon, security-related, or cloud-related
This is a 12-month calendar position in job grade 14T with a yearly rate of pay between $41,613.84 and $55,164.96.
