Position Overview:
The Business Development Director is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the full cycle of the business development process within the company. This includes identifying new business opportunities, driving strategic partnerships, leading negotiations, and ensuring the seamless implementation of new business agreements. The role works closely with key internal stakeholders across commercial, legal, technical, and account management teams to ensure the successful launch and optimisation of new partnerships and business relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development Strategy:
- Collaborate with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and commercial management team to define and execute short, medium, and long-term business development strategies.
- Identify and assess potential new business opportunities, markets, and target verticals.
- Maintain a comprehensive pipeline of prospective clients, including both strategic partnerships and new business prospects.
- Lead Generation and Outreach:
- Drive the end-to-end business development process, from initial market research and target identification to initial outreach and engagement.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in target organisations.
- Leverage industry knowledge and networks to generate qualified leads and grow the business pipeline.
- Negotiation and Contract Management:
- Lead negotiation processes with potential clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Work closely with the legal team to review, draft, and finalise contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (including KYC processes).
- Ensure all commercial terms, SLAs, and service agreements are clearly defined and meet both client and company expectations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the technical team to ensure that necessary integrations and system requirements for new business are properly scoped and executed.
- Partner with the account management team to ensure smooth onboarding and optimised launches of new clients and partners.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders throughout the implementation process to ensure timely and successful outcomes. Management of 3rd party provider relationships who provide content via Kalamba Games Bullseye RGS, ensuring that performance and distribution is optimised to deliver business performance objectives.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Track and report on business development activities, including key metrics such as revenue targets, client acquisition, and project timelines.
- Develop and present reports to the CCO and other senior stakeholders on the performance of the business development pipeline and strategies.
- Market Intelligence and Trend Analysis:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform business development strategies and decision-making.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and potential risks to adjust the business development approach accordingly.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor and provide leadership to junior members of the business development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, training, and development efforts for the business development function.

- Proven track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities, particularly in [industry/sector].
