Position Summary
General Managers are ultimately responsible for all store operations, personnel and compliance with cannabis regulations. Effective time, business, and employee management are essential skills for success in this position. GMs are responsible for ensuring the highest quality customer service; obtaining, receiving, weighing and organizing merchandise; store opening and closing procedures; maintaining a clean and safe work space; enhancing product knowledge; supporting sales associates and processors and complying with cannabis rules and regulations at all times. Successful general managers must have exceptional time management, interpersonal and leadership skills, demonstrate integrity in all aspects of their employment and champion the company’s core values and vision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for all day to day operations including but not limited to:
- Ensuring customers have an outstanding customer experience.
- Cannabis regulatory compliance.

Business management
- Manage, grow and improve store operations and business performance. Contribute, execute and champion business initiatives and strategy as designed and directed by upper management.
- Employee management and development;
- Setting employee schedules two weeks out; finding coverage for employee call-outs; interviewing candidates; employee training on all aspects of their responsibilities; administer performance reviews; issuing disciplinary write-ups; maintaining employee records; fostering employee growth.
- Cash management
- Maintain adequate records of cash movements; prepare bank deposits and disburse employee tips.
- Safety and security
- Keep safety and security a top priority; promptly address all safety and security concerns; foster a welcoming, courteous and happy work environment.
- Inventory management
- Maintain accurate inventory records in accordance with state regulations; report inventory levels to wholesale; oversee product intake; oversee the preparation of products for the sales floor; ensure adequate inventory of store product and store supplies.
- Other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possess OLCC Marijuana Worker Permit (Oregon).
- High level working computer knowledge; proficient in Microsoft Office and G Suite.
- 3-5 years of previous management experience.
- A strong sense of initiative
- Ability to speak politely and effectively with a diverse clientele and employees.
- Ability to work unsupervised under stressful conditions.
- Ability to interpret and apply applicable cannabis rules.
