Position Overview:
Westbury Terrace Condominiums is currently seeking a reliable and motivated Porter to join our team. This full-time, non-exempt position offers the opportunity to contribute to the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the building and its grounds. As a Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the daily upkeep of the community, while fostering positive relationships with residents, owners, and staff. You will work closely with the Superintendent, executing assigned tasks to maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized environment.

Responsibilities:
The Porter is responsible for a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties, contributing directly to the comfort and safety of all residents. Each day begins with opening the recreation room and ensuring that restroom doors are accessible during pool hours. You will deliver newspapers to residents promptly each morning and attend to the daily maintenance of common areas, including the laundry rooms, mailrooms, and hallways. Your duties will include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting various shared spaces, such as the lobby and elevators. Regular checks and removal of debris from the grounds and parking lots will also be part of your daily tasks, along with inspecting and replacing lightbulbs as needed.

You will maintain key areas of the building on a bi-weekly, weekly, and monthly basis, including sweeping sidewalks, cleaning meter rooms, ensuring that smoke detectors and emergency lights are functioning properly, and maintaining the cleanliness of bike rooms and light fixtures. Additionally, you will assist with snow removal, pool upkeep, and other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent. The role also includes distributing notices to residents and providing security when contractors are working in resident apartments.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must maintain a professional and positive atmosphere when interacting with residents and fellow employees. Confidentiality is paramount, as you will often have access to sensitive information. Strong interpersonal skills, good attendance, and a strong work ethic are essential, as you will be working closely with others to ensure that the building remains in excellent condition. You must also demonstrate a high level of honesty and integrity while completing tasks in a timely manner.

Physical maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, will require attention to detail and an ability to handle cleaning equipment. Your ability to maintain and operate equipment properly is vital, as is your punctuality and adherence to schedules. Flexibility to assist with shift changes, with prior approval from the Superintendent, is also required.
