The Chief Health Information Officer serves as a vital link between the clinical and technical aspects of providing care to the community for our entire health system in a full-time (1.0 FTE) capacity. This physician-led position focuses on the integration of healthcare information technology with clinical practices to enhance patient care quality, efficiency / cost, safety, and equity. The CHIO will lead efforts to leverage technology to improve the patient experience, clinician experience, improve population health outcomes, and adopt data-driven operations while working closely with other senior members of the IT and Operations teams. This role emphasizes a comprehensive approach to healthcare delivery, encompassing ambulatory and acute patient care and broader population health management and the support of the transition to risk-based arrangements.
Education And Credentials
Master's degree with license and appropriate credentials.
Responsibilities :
- 3 years of experience in Health informatics, public health, healthcare administration, or related discipline required.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role related to technology improvement.
- Strong understanding of EHRs, clinical decision support, data and analytics, and health information exchanges.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and drive organizational change.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals.
