Job Description
Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a technologist, supervisor, pathologist assistant or pathologist, performs routine preparatory procedures of patient specimens in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner. Assists in receiving, storing, distributing and controlling of inventory.
Education And Credentials
Responsibilities:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate of Arts in Laboratory Technology preferred.
Experience
Other information:
1 year of experience in health care environment with laboratory involvement required or Minimum of an associate's degree (or equivalent) in a medical field or life sciences major from an accredited institution; OR currently enrolled in the minimum of an associate's degree (or equivalent) in a medical field or life sciences field from an accredited institution with at least part time status. Data Entry Alpha Numeric (Hard Copy) Skills Test required.
**For clinical positions, other than Registered Nurse and nursing support positions, internal applicants must have been employed in the same job title as the per diem position for which they are applying or in a comparable area of practice. Internal and External applicants must have a minimum of nine (9) continuous months of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted. All applicants will be required to satisfy all orientation/probationary requirements.**
