Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and management, along with excellent negotiation skills. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate project cost assessments and maintaining effective communication with clients and contractors throughout the bidding process.
Duties
- Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets and monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create and manage estimates efficiently.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Review and analyze bid proposals, ensuring compliance with project specifications and requirements.
- Train and mentor junior estimators, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing to enhance estimating processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating or management, with a strong understanding of cost control principles.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software, particularly Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing competitive pricing on contracts.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Experience managing projects on construction sites, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, contractors, and team members.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
