Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role as an Adult Companion (AC) located in Halifax, MA. As an AC, you will be responsible for providing compassionate support to individuals with physical disabilities, brain injuries, and other mental health diagnoses while fostering connections within their communities, and assisting them in their everyday lives.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide one-on-one support to individuals in everyday activities at home and in the community, helping them build skills and confidence.
*Assist with grocery shopping, doctor's appointments, and other outings, providing companionship.
*Collaborate with individuals to implement support strategies that align with their interests and personal goals, including physical activities and community engagement.
*Offer compassionate companionship and listen actively to individuals, providing encouragement, empathy, and a safe space to express feelings and concerns.
*Provide reliable transportation for personal appointments, errands, or social engagements, ensuring that individuals can access important services and activities.
*Encourage and assist individuals in participating in social activities and building connections with others, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
*Complete and submit accurate daily progress notes to track each individual's growth and development.
Qualifications
*A Bachelor's degree OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) WITH at least 2 years of relevant community-based experience.
*Valid Driver's License.
*Access to a reliable, well-maintained personal vehicle that is suitable for transporting individuals.
*Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities.
*Must be willing to undergo a background check, provide a driving record, complete a health screening, and submit any required onboarding documentation.
*CPR/First Aid certification is required but may be acquired during onboarding process.
*Must be available to work on weekdays, between 8 AM and 4 PM. No overnight shifts available.
