JOB SUMMARY
Kaleidoscope is a dynamic, tier-2 creative agency renowned for its innovation in brand packaging design, marketing support, and strategic brand solutions. We serve both established brands and emerging start-ups, delivering cutting-edge design solutions across a wide variety of industries.
Kaleidoscope is looking for a standout Junior Designer to add to our dynamic and growing Design team. As a Junior Designer on our team, you will work on packaging design projects, corporate identity, and internal marketing communications. You will be an indispensable partner to the entire team as you’ll be completing all manner of studio roles from designing to creating presentation decks and providing support for any department that may need an extra pair of hands. No task is too big or too small in an effort to show true team skills and a positive can-do attitude.
You are the perfect fit for this role if you are described as incredibly creative, have the ability to think strategically and are looking for the opportunity to work on a wide variety of categories from big to small clients. You are just as comfortable drawing on paper napkins as you are throwing layers in Photoshop, and you possess an uncanny ability to work on multiple projects at a given time. You feed off the energy and enthusiasm of others and welcome creative direction and feedback. You are eager to contribute to corporate identity projects, photo shoots, and in-house photography needs. Most importantly, you are the type of person who is the first one to raise your hand for any extra tasks when help is needed.
\n- Play an active role in working under project leads/senior members of the team
- Develop initial concepts and refine design iterations for consumer packaging
- Assume hands-on design function to help complete projects in a timely, aesthetically compelling manner
- Take accountability and ownership of assigned projects while understanding time lines
- Conceptualize, design, and produce a wide range of specialized graphics and/or illustrative material against the set strategic brief
- Open to creative feedback and collaborative direction, thriving in energetic, team-oriented environments
- Display a positive, proactive attitude, consistently volunteering for additional tasks to support team needs
- Ability to present concepts and provide rationale behind decision making
- A minimum of 1 year of agency experience or internship; brand packaging and/or identity design experience with a major CPG brand, a plus
- A passion for design, a must
- Mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, and other current design software in a Mac OS X environment
- The basic need to be able to draw or layout design thinking using the traditional design tools
- Incredible attention to detail
- Excels in both an independent and team environment
- BFA, or equivalent experience in Design, Packaging, Advertising or promotional collateral
