Summary of Functions
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Landscaper participates in the installation and maintenance of ornamental plants, shrubs, and trees in the planting areas of the Kalispel Park landscape beds, assists in the maintenance of ornamental lawn areas around the Kalispel RV Park and parking lot areas, participates in the maintenance of hard surfaces of the parking lot and operates equipment associated with the maintenance of ornamental plants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in the daily maintenance of ornamental plants, shrubs and trees in the planting areas of the Kalispel Park landscape beds.
- Participates in the maintenance of the parking lot and associated hard and turf surfaces around the Park.
- Prepares planting beds, establishes by seed and transplants and maintains annual and perennial flowers in aesthetically pleasing arrangements.
- Installs and maintains ornamental shrubs and trees to include appropriate pruning, fertilizing, watering, weeding and pest control.
- Landscape maintenance tasks to include; weeding edging, trimming, mowing, blowing, hoeing, raking, watering, sweeping, planting, and digging.
- Operates mechanical and power equipment used in the maintenance of ornamental plants and trees.
- Proficiently and safely use snow removal equipment such as shovels, plows, snow blowers, ATV’s, skid loaders, vehicles with plow blades, and other power and manually operated tools and equipment used to perform snow removal
