Summary of Functions
Supervises schedules, coordinates, plans, organizes, trains, and inspects casino and hotel maintenance program by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians- Internal Controls, and Northern Quest Policies and Procedures.
- Keeps current and available to staff all material related to safety, like material safety data sheets and OSHA guidelines.
- Conducts team staff meetings and attends supervisory staff meeting at least once weekly.
- Interprets policy, procedures, enforces safety practices, department goals, objectives and quality standards.
- Trains team members in equipment care and use.
- Develops work schedules, monitors attendance and disciplines team members as necessary.
- Evaluates team member performance and provides constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement in a timely manner.
- Outlines and prioritizes maintenance projects.
- Orders equipment and materials for maintenance projects.
- Schedules maintenance projects, assigning the appropriate personnel for the maintenance task.
- Assigns time and cost to the maintenance project. Follows up on completed projects to determine accuracy and to insure quality requirements have been met.
- Works close with the Facilities Manager to insure that project schedules are not interfering with routine preventive maintenance.
- Identifies and coordinates training needs with the Facilities Manager.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems and team member conflicts. Makes recommendation to Facilities Manager for improvements.
- Monitor customer (internal and external) satisfaction with maintenance tasks.
- Monitors staffing levels with emphasis on increasing efficiencies and productivity through improving work schedules and work practices.
- Monitors proper use of building equipment and tools with emphasis on safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, firing, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and solving problems.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates degree (A.A.) from a two year college or 1 year certificate from a technical school.
Experience
- Five years’ experience in all of the following areas: carpentry, HVAC, Electrical, Drywall, Painting and Housekeeping, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two or more years supervisory related experience.
Skills
- Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and other computer software.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads, associates and the public.
- Knowledge of kitchen and hood systems
- Skill in identifying and resolving problems under pressure conditions.
Other Requirements
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- All offers of employment are contingent upon passing the pre-employment Drug and Alcohol screening
- A valid WA State Driver’s License and insurability under the Tribal vehicle/equipment insurance plan is required.
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

- Requires the ability to lift and or/move objects weighing up to 80 pounds.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The worker is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Travel Requirements
Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required. Typical travel time is generally less than a week.
