Summary :
Under the direction of the Senior Tribal Attorney and Staff Attorneys, the intern will complete research and document drafting projects on a variety of Indian Law and other legal issues. This position is not remote and is expected to be full time during Summer.
DUTIES :
- Conduct legal research and draft briefing memos on legal issues as directed.
- Conduct research and provide draft versions of revised or new Law and Order Code sections under the supervision of staff attorneys.
- Assist in preparing documents including legal pleadings, contracts and forms.
- Assist in the editing and revision of policies, procedures and protocols under the supervision of staff attorneys.
- Assist in the maintenance of contract databases, electronic and paper files, and accurate tracking of workload statistics.
- Attend court hearings and assist staff attorneys and paralegals, as requested.
- Adhere to all applicable tribal, federal, or state privacy laws and regulations, including, but not limited to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
Supervisory Responsibility :
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Certificates, Licenses, Regulations : Rule 9 Intern, Admission to the Kalispel Tribal Court. Physical Demands :
