Production Manager

About the Role:   

At Kalmbach Feeds, the role of Production Manager requires a highly responsible individual with a primary emphasis on safety, quality, and on-time delivery. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist with maintenance, process improvements, capital projects and other production related activities in conjunction with the Plant Manager. As unique situations present themselves, the selected candidate must be sensitive to customer needs, company goals, team member goodwill and public image.   

Primary Responsibilities:

• You are responsible for the safe, cost effective and efficient production of the manufacturing operation   
• You develop and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures  
• You monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards  
• You provide leadership and training to team members to accomplish company goals and objectives; your involvement includes hiring decisions, development, and disciplinary actions
• You promote effective cross-departmental communication amongst teams such as Purchasing, Nutrition, Maintenance, and Customer Service
• You will be responsible for departmental budget creation, expenditures, and capital projects

The Right Candidate:  

• Possess a minimum of 3 years in Manufacturing Management - Bachelors in related field, preferred   
• Demonstrate exemplary verbal and written communication skills   
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability with high attention to detail   
• Acquire high energy level and drive required to proactively execute on production management responsibilities without constant supervision    
• Provide leadership by delegating appropriately, understanding capabilities of team members, and creating development plans to help team members achieve common goals 
• Engage team members to continuously improve current company processes and identify areas for improvement
• Exhibit excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking ability   
• Proficient in all Windows based programs and familiar with ERP and MES Systems
• Happy to commute to our feed manufacturing facility located in Upper Sandusky, OH
