KAM Consultants Corp., a dynamic NYC-based environmental consulting firm and laboratory, is seeking an in-house Laboratory Analyst - Environmental PCM/TEM to perform day to day laboratory analytical operations. You will be responsible for performing and overseeing analyses on Asbestos, ensuring accurate results and efficient workflow. This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality.
The candidate will be assisting in a mid-size laboratory performing and overseeing analysis on Lead, Asbestos, PBCs. Monitoring and improving workflow and to achieve the highest level of client satisfaction.

Job Description:
- Collaborate with the lab manager to ensure day-to-day chemistry team laboratory operations run smoothly.
- Analysis and preparation of air asbestos samples, managing priority status fulfillment, scheduling workflow, and meeting client deadlines.
- Interact with clients professionally, addressing any inquiries or concerns they may have.
- Write, review, and revise reports, chain of custody, and other lab forms as needed.
- Adhere to internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) protocols and procedures.
- Participate in proficiency tests.
- Prepare for yearly inspections and internal reviews.
- Lab cleanliness maintenance and hazardous waste disposal in accordance with EPA and NYS guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Experience in asbestos analysis, lead analysis and the operation of PCM/TEM (Required)
- B.S. degree in Chemistry or related discipline (Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science/ Engineering, Biochemistry, etc.) (Required)
- M.S. degree in Chemistry or related scientific disciplines and/or 5 years working in a chemistry lab setting. (Preferred)
- Follow NYSDOH/NVLAP/AIHA codes, rules, methods and regulations (Required)
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in Asbestos/Lead Analysis (Required)
- 2 years management experience (Preferred)
- Experience with mold analysis (Preferred)
- microscopes and FAAS instrument (Required)
- Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat skills
- Proven ability to problem solve/troubleshoot and provide solutions under minimal supervision. Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment.
- Experience in operation of FAA, GC-MS, GC-ECD, PCM, PLM, TEM instruments. KAM is excited to welcome a strong candidate into our diverse laboratory environment.

Pay: $50K - $65K (Negotiable with experience)
