Role Overview
As an EMT/Physician Substitute, you will leverage your emergency medical training in a new and rewarding environment, playing a crucial role in the plasma collection process. Your primary responsibilities will include screening and assessing potential plasma donors, conducting physical exams, managing adverse reactions, and performing immunizations. You'll work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician, utilizing your ability to stay calm under pressure and your commitment to following established safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct medical evaluations and assessments in line with your EMT training and regulatory requirements.
- Perform health history assessments and physical exams to determine donor eligibility.
- Monitor and document vital signs during and after donations.
- Respond promptly to adverse reactions or emergencies, providing immediate medical care and consulting with the Center Physician or EMS as needed.
- Administer immunizations according to company SOPs.
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate closely with the Center Physician and Quality Manager on complex cases.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Maintain your EMT certification, CPR, and AED credentials.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- EMT certification from an accredited institution required.
- Current CPR and AED certification required.
- Experience in a medical or healthcare setting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure a positive donor experience.
- Ability to stay composed and effective in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in data entry and electronic record management.
