Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated elementary school teacher to join our Kamalani ʻOhana.
The teacher will be responsible for providing instruction and support to second-grade students in various subject areas, including but not limited to mathematics, language arts (ELA), writing, science, and social studies. The teacher is expected to create a positive and engaging learning environment, develop lesson plans, assess student progress, communicate with parents/guardians, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the academic and social success of all students.
Kindergarten is a total of 18 students. Itʻs the beginning of 3rd quarter so there is less than 4 months left in the school year. Since this is an open enrollment school - be prepared for more students throughout the year.
Kamalani Academy MAY close end of May, please understand end of contract will end when Kamalani Academy closes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required, Education license is recommended
Valid teaching certification/license for the appropriate grade level and subject area is recommended
Prior experience teaching elementary students, preferably in second grade is recommended
Strong knowledge of child development and instructional strategies for young learners is necessary
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is necessary
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and community members
Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children
