What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory and Purchasing Associate position at KAMCO Supply Corporation of NE?
Kamco Supply New England is a top distributor of drywall, insulation, steel framing, commercial ceiling tile and much more. We are seeking an organized, detail oriented, and motivated individual to join our Inventory and Purchasing Department. Inventory and purchasing experience are required, although it doesn't necessarily have to be in the Construction or Distribution Industry, that would be a plus. The right person and fit are one of our main priorities and in-house training is available. Applicant should possess great interpersonal skills to build relationships with vendors and manufacturers.
This position has the flexibility to work out of our Albany and / or Queensbury Branch Locations
Responsibilities : As an Inventory / Purchasing Associate, you will assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and product ordering.
Specific duties may include :
Ordering products from a variety of vendors and manufacturers for all 9 Kamco Supply NE locations
Moving products from Kamco Branch to Kamco Branch to supplement inventory
Arranging with the warehouses for vendor product arrival
Effectively use and adjust inventory min / max's to assist with reordering products
Addressing and resolving product issues as they arise
Receiving inbound material into system
Performing cycle counts
Requirements :
1-2 years' experience in purchasing and inventory control is preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Solid time management and prioritization skills
Superior organizational skills
Be driven and motivated.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Experience in construction or distribution a plus
Compensation based on experience.
Full time office position based out of Albany or Queensbury location - Monday through Friday (typically 7am - 4pm)
Travel required
Majority of work performed from branch office (Albany or Queensbury, NY)
Weekly travel required to opposite branch office (Albany or Queensbury, NY)
Quarterly travel may be required to support other Kamco Supply locations.
