We are looking for an accountant to join our team as a senior tax accountant or rising supervisor with 4-6 years of recent public accounting and supervisory experience. For this position, the pursuit of the CPA or EA certification, if not already obtained, is strongly encouraged, and expected. This individual will work directly with the manager and partners on tax, accounting, and attestation engagements. This opportunity is for someone with strong leadership skills, that wants to learn how to manage and train lower-level staff, while continuing to grow in their accounting knowledge. Very little to no travel is required; most clients are local. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities, but not limited to :
Advanced level tax preparation skills. (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, Individual, Trust)
Review tax work of staff and interns and provide feedback, training, and mentoring
Review tax information supplied by client and obtain open items
Assist with the coordination of the day-to-day duties of planning, tax work, and wrap-up
Perform tax research to resolve issues and respond to notices
Identify and communicate tax matters to Managers and Partners
Prepares quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
Prepares monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
Performs compilation and reviews and prepares financial statements
Works on special projects as required
Build relationships with clients and staff
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting.
Active CPA license or actively pursuing CPA licensure or alternatively and active EA license.
3-6 years in public accounting.
Experienced working with QuickBooks (desktop and online) and Excel a plus.
Experienced working with CCH Tax, Scan and Engagement a plus.
Experienced reviewing tax returns.
Strong technical skills.
Excellent at time management and organization.
Able to produce high quality work in a timely manner.
Have the utmost attention to detail and client service.
Professional, energetic, and flexible.
Very strong communication skills and comfortable communicating with clients.
