What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer position at KaMin LLC?
As a Process Engineer, your mission is to drive operational excellence within our kaolin operations. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing process efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness. Your responsibilities extend beyond technical expertise; you’ll also be a champion of safety within the plant.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Critical Projects Management:
- Strategic Focus: Work on projects identified as critical through personal efforts, justifications, and recognition by others within KaMin.
- System-Level Impact: These projects primarily deal with complete systems.

Process Improvement and Equipment Evaluation:
- Recommendations: Identify and recommend process improvements and actively assist in their implementation.
- Equipment Selection: Evaluate processing equipment and provide recommendations for optimal plant use.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Teamwork: Collaborate as part of cross-functional project teams.
- Stakeholder Interaction: Interface with internal and external customers.

Work Environment and Availability:
- Office and Plant Environment: Operate in both office and plant settings, subject to internal and external environmental conditions.
- Office Equipment: Required to operate standard office equipment.
- Travel and On-Call: Some travel may be necessary (including overseas, although rare). Be available and willing to be on-call outside regular hours.
Knowledge/Skills:
- A 4-year engineering degree from an accredited university, coupled with 3-5 years of experience in an industrial environment.
- Hands-On Expertise: Experience in evaluating the performance of existing and new processes, making data-driven recommendations, and successfully implementing process improvements.
- Mineral or Chemical Processing: Additional experience in mineral or chemical processing is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
- Mobility: Ability to climb, stand, sit, and walk long distances.
- Manual Dexterity: Proficient use of fingers and substantial movements (repetitive motion) with wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Visual Acuity: Close visual acuity for operating a personal computer, reading reports, and analyzing data.
- Stairs and Ladders: Occasional ascents and descents of stairs and ladders (up to 30 feet) on top of tanks and elevators in a safe manner.
- Height Tolerance: Ability to ascend and descend stairs occasionally at heights up to 180 feet on top of tanks and calciners.
