Starter (Car Loader McIntyre/Gordon)

Purpose of Job: Operates bagging systems for packaged finished product (bulk bags and 55 lb bags) in the Shipping Department. Works as a team with other shipping personnel to complete daily functions. Rotates among positions including bagger operator, forklift operator, and stacker throughout a shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtains bagging instructions, completes stencils, and works with the bagging team leader to assist in paperwork completion.
• Operates automatic small bagger, ensures bag weights are controlled according to customer quality specifications, and performs SOC checks on bag weighs.
• Moves empty and full pallets, one-ton bags, and supplies using a forklift (certified by KaMin), loads/unloads trucks, assembles pallets, and stacks bags up to shoulder height from conveyor onto pallets.
• Cleans containers, obtains supplies, prepares cars for loading and shipping, and cleans the warehouse.

Additional Position Requirements:

• Complies with all Company policies and procedures, safety rules, and maintains a safe working environment.
• Reports safety incidents, productivity, and quality issues to supervisors immediately and participates in regular safety meetings.
• Understands and complies with Personal Protective Equipment requirements and accepts delegated tasks.

Working Conditions:

• Works rotating shifts, may be required to work overtime, and exposed to seasonal temperature variations, noise, vibrations, chemicals, dust, fumes, and slippery conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires standing 75% of time, walking 10%, sitting 10%, and bending 5%.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift, ascend and descend stairs and ladders safely, and lift 55 lb bags consistently.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to read and comprehend work orders, safety manuals, and material safety data sheets.
• High School Diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and current driver's license and forklift certification.
