Our client is looking for a Senior Hybrid Cloud/Platform Engineer 100% onsite in Springfield, VA. Benefits include 75% health premiums paid by employer, 10 federal holidays, paid time off and 401K.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters across both cloud and on-prem (vSphere) environments
- Ensure platform stability, performance, and security across multiple security domains
- Support application teams by streamlining deployment processes and platform integrations
- Leverage tools like Crossplane, Kyverno, Red Hat GitOps, ACS, and ACM
- Collaborate with development teams to support scaling and integration needs
- Partner with security teams to ensure compliance and develop secure-by-design solutions
- Support and manage data services such as RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, and Elastic Stack
- Create clear documentation and provide technical training to fellow team members
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field
- 7 years of IT experience, including 3 years supporting platform engineering or cloud environments
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification, such as Security CE, SSCP, CySA , GSEC, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing Red Hat OpenShift in cloud and vSphere environments
- Strong understanding of Linux distributions (RHEL, RHCOS, Rocky, CentOS)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI and Red Hat GitOps (ArgoCD)
- Proficient with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, CNCF ecosystem)
- Scripting skills in Python and Shell scripting
- Experience working in Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments
- Familiarity with Git and source control best practices
Desired Certifications:
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (preferred)
