Job Summary :
At Kammerer Dynamics, Inc. (KDi), our Structural Engineer Estimator is essential to ensuring the success of our projects. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for costs, materials, and timelines for structural projects, including custom-built parts and large-scale weldments. As a valued team member, you’ll collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to prepare bids, assess project feasibility, and help uphold KDi’s commitment to quality and innovation since 1942.
Key Responsibilities : Cost Estimation :
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural projects, covering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and blueprints to determine requirements.
Bid Preparation :
Develop and submit comprehensive bids and proposals, ensuring deadlines are met.Analyze bid documents to identify risks, exclusions, and clarifications.Material Quantification :
Calculate material take-offs (MTO) and quantities based on project drawings.Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.Project Analysis :
Assess project feasibility and develop preliminary budgets.Propose value-engineering solutions to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.Collaboration :
Work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure accurate estimates.Attend project meetings to clarify scope and discuss cost-related concerns.Reporting :
Maintain detailed records of estimates, proposals, and related documentation.Prepare regular cost reports and update forecasts as needed.Compliance and Standards :
Ensure all estimates meet industry standards, codes, and client specifications.Stay informed about market trends, material costs, and emerging technologies.Qualifications : Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field preferred.Experience :
A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural estimation or a similar role.Skills :
Strong knowledge of structural systems, materials, and construction methods.Proficiency with estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Certifications (Preferred) :
