KAMO Power, located in Vinita, Oklahoma is in search of a Substation Technician I. the work location will be the Muskogee, OK facility. KAMO offers an exceptional compensation and benefits package including 100% paid employee medical coverage and employer base contribution 401k plan.
The Substation Technician I will assist in providing support in processing, maintaining, repairing and testing substation equipment to ensure safe and proper operations. Assists in testing and maintenance of all types of transformers, breakers, regulators, circuit switchers, capacitors, switches, power panels, batteries and reclosers. This position will also assist in the restoration of power during outages, as required.
Ideal candidates will have a basic understanding of maintenance and testing procedures on various types of circuit breakers, transformers, metering equipment and switches (varying from 15 kV to 345 kV). Basic knowledge of AC and DC circuits, electrical schematics, physical design drawings, transformer applications, electro-mechanical devices and gauge calibration.
An Associates Degree in Applied Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology is required. Equivalent industry experience in a related field may potentially be considered for substitution of degree requirements.
All levels of experience will be considered. Job and pay grade will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
