What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate - Culinex position at Kamran and Company LLC?
Responsibilities:
- Read packing slips to determine items to be accurately received, inspect items for damage, key information into FACTS software, and correctly calculate freight.
- Conveys items or freight from receiving areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Sorts and places items or freight on assigned racks and shelves, according to their storage codes.
- Picks customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, or conveys orders to packing/shipping station.
- Deliver orders to customers (deliveries range from small items, to larger items that require 2 or more warehouse associates, and distances that range from a few city blocks, to 100 miles).
- Maintain an exceptional level of cleanliness and organization within the warehouse.
- Operate fork trucks with caution, and in accordance to all safety guidelines.
- Notify Warehouse Manager of problems that are unresolvable, and resolve all other issues at the warehouse associate level.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The associate is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet, hot, extreme cold and/or humid conditions. Employee may occasionally be required to travel for deliveries, to other Culinex locations as business needs dictate (i.e. training, business continuation, etc.).
Job Requirements:
- Previous warehouse experience preferred
- Previous experience operating a forklift / warehouse material handling equipment preferred
- Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work
- The ability to work in a physically demanding warehouse environment – continuously lifting and moving up to 75lbs
- The ability to meet fast-paced productivity goals and standards
- Required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Timely and regular attendance
- Class D Driver’s License, in order to operate fleet vehicles
