Because of an increased demand for our radio plans for international projects, we are seeking a Radio Planner for our Customer Services North America Management Team.
Directly reporting to our Head of Customer Services North America, you will be part of a team consisting of 12 colleagues with technical backgrounds as engineers, project managers and technicians. As a Radio Planner, you will be joining a team who delivers remote reading solutions to utilities. In the team we have an informal work environment and tone of communication, where people help each other when needed, and always strive to challenge status quo to serve our customers in the best way possible. You will more specifically team up with our Senior Radio Specialist in Customer Projects, and the two of you will be working closely together in order to serve the needs for radio plans globally in Kamstrup.
In the position of Radio Planner, you will be responsible for the radio planning of fixed networks for remote reading as well as initial and subsequent troubleshooting and propagation model fine tuning. This will be done in close collaboration with customers, Sales, R&D, and colleagues in the Service and Solution Division.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform RF network design and optimization for the implementation of the Kamstrup READy AMI network.
- Oversee propagation modeling and prediction tasks for both new and existing customers.
- Validate RF data models to ensure alignment with new product launches.
- Analyze large datasets using various RF propagation models and mapping tools.
- Candidate must reside in the United States; relocation is not available.
- Travel required: Less than 25%.
PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in RF Engineering, Radio Electronics, or similar fixed network professional experience in lieu of degree.
- Familiarity with RF propagation models is preferred.
- Practical or theoretical experience within radio planning, antenna theory and/or radio communication, will be considered as an advantage.
- Experience in the water utility metering industry a plus.
- Proficiency with RF propagation software (e.g., SoftWright’s TAP, RadioPlanner, CloudRF, EDX Signal Pro).
- Proficiency with mapping and GIS Software (e.g., Google Earth Pro, ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Strong skills in technical documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
