Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Aerial Lineman to join our team at Kanaan Communications, LLC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cable, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable, including the placement of poles and anchors.
- Safely use hand tools and equipment, such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, and excavators.
- Set up safety perimeters using signage, cones, and safety barriers.
- Flag traffic when required.
- Understand separation and clearance regulations.
- Safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders.
- Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be authorized to work in the United States for Kanaan Communications, LLC.
- Pass a DOT physical exam and hold a valid medical card.
- Hold a valid standard Driver's License with a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Have previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
- Have knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques.
- Be able to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and aloft, up to 40 feet.
- Perform all duties in telecommunications construction, including pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction.
- Lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed, with or without assistance.
- Work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies, or on-call.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Work in all weather conditions.
- Travel when required.
- May have experience splicing active and passive equipment.
