Overview
Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority is seeking skilled and experienced individual(s) for the position(s) of Maintenance Supervisor. The ideal candidate(s) will have a strong background in automotive industry management and light/heavy duty maintenance, with the ability to lead a team effectively and efficiently. This role requires a leadership role to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
Duties
- Directly reports to Director of Maintenance & Managing Director of Infrastructure
- Responsible for the maintenance of a fleet of approximately 70 vehicles (light, medium, and heavy duty) to ensure the continuity of a 24/7 maintenance operation
- Supervises a shift of approximately 5-8 maintenance employees
- Responsible for overseeing and advising supervised maintenance employees
- Prepares work orders and enters parts/labor into business management software
- Assigns work, prioritizing assignments in an effort to maintain the optimal number of mass transit vehicles operational for peak service needs
- Confirms that appropriate parts, tools, and equipment are utilized for repairs/service
- Prepares parts requisitions as necessary
- Train and mentor maintenance employees on best practices, safety protocols, and technical skills
- Reports any deficiencies of the maintenance facility to upper management for proper service, repair, or replacement
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory management
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree (or higher) in Business Management or related field and/or related experience preferred
- Management or supervisory experience in automotive or transportation maintenance or related field
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and quality
- Ability to read schematics and technical documentation preferred
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and systems used in the automotive industry preferred
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Commitment to safety practices within the workplace
- Ability to successfully pass federal background check and drug/alcohol screen
