Job Summary: The Payroll Assistant position is an entry level part-time role at our union based entity in Trenton, NJ. This position is responsible for assisting the payroll department in completion of various external and internal payroll reporting requirements. This role is primarily a data entry position.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Entry of data from internal payroll system to certified payroll reports, Department of Labor reports and Manning reports.
- Assist with creation and organization of new hire/termination network folders for union employees.
- Assist with timesheet processing (administrative only, no computational work)
- Assist with preparation of internal payroll reports for management.
- Assist payroll team with external audits.
- Provide backup assistance with general office administrative duties.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently without jeopardizing accuracy.
- Ability to navigate and maintain organization within network folders.
- Ability to follow direction well.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and safe guard employee information.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Outlook.
- Basic working knowledge of Adobe PDF
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a data entry role.
- Experience in a payroll or accounting role is a plus but not a requirement.
Physical Requirements:
- Typical standard office environment conditions; sitting, standing, walking, and minimal lifting.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
