We are seeking a Power Plant Boiler Operator to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. This role requires working rotating 12-hour shifts, including both days and nights, as well as weekends and overtime as needed. Employees working night shifts receive a 15% differential, with a 20% differential for weekend shifts and double time on Sundays.Advance Your Career Compensation is based on your current license level (minimum 2nd Class Fireman’s License required). Our team of innovators is dedicated to developing high-quality, reliable, and forward-thinking solutions that help protect what matters most.Your Impact in This RoleAs a Power Plant Boiler Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the uninterrupted generation of steam and electricity for plant operations. This includes starting and shutting down boilers, turbines, and feed water pumps while maintaining open communication with key personnel. You will also be responsible for monitoring and administering the feed water testing program.Key Responsibilities :
- Operate and maintain all power plant equipment.
- Clean boiler tubes and fuel oil guns, replace strainers, and maintain proper chemical balance in boilers.
- Perform pipe fitting, steam system repairs, and rebuild steam traps.
- Replace steam coils, pressure relief valves, tube bundles, and steam control valves.
- Monitor boiler operations, alarms, and interlocks for proper functionality.
- Maintain correct salt levels in water softeners.What You Bring to the Team
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2nd Class Fireman’s License (MA).
- Commitment to continuing education and licensing renewal requirements.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Must obtain a 3rd Class Engineer’s License within two years of hire.
