This individual will manage a small estimating team, bid high-value projects, and work with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on construction knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a desire to build a long-term career in a stable, supportive environment.Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage a small estimating department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial projects, including schools, dealerships, hospitals, and hospitality buildings.
- Evaluate contractor responses and oversee bid evaluations with the support of two coordinators.
- Provide self-performed cost analysis for carpentry, concrete pouring, and other essential trades.
- Collaborate with clients and project managers to finalize bids for high-value projects, such as multi-story buildings (e.g., a 7-story commercial project).
- Maintain an in-office presence in Rockford, IL, with limited travel for out-of-state client meetings.Qualifications :
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, including concrete and carpentry.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and lead a team effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and tools.Compensation & Benefits :
- Competitive salary : $100,000 – $150,000 annually, based on experience.
