Job Summary:
The Property Maintenance Technician / Handyman is responsible for assisting with day-to-day duties to maintain, add improvements, troubleshoot, and repair Kaney properties, facilities and facility equipment.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist with remodels, build-outs, repairs and maintenance of Kaney properties , facilities and equipment.
- Ensure common areas, parking lots, and building exteriors are clean and well-maintained.
- Schedule and perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment and building facilities.
- Perform building maintenance and enhancement activities such as minor plumbing, minor electrical, painting, and carpentry functions.
- Accurately diagnose problems; replace or repair parts, test and make needed adjustments.
- Support office staff by assembling office equipment as needed such as chairs, desks, hanging white boards, etc.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing concerns professionally.
- Support property manager in administrative duties, such as record-keeping and reporting maintenance issues.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with property safety and building regulations.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in building maintenance, construction or equivalent.
Minimum Competencies:
- Prior maintenance experience; electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, painting and mechanical skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and related equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or other craft apprenticeship, trade school or related certification.
Preferred Competencies:
- General knowledge of OSHA as it relates to building and equipment safety standards.
Operational Details / Work Environment
- This position operates in an office and manufacturing environment.
- Lifting is required, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and bend or stand as necessary.
- 1st shift - Some after hours, nights and weekends as needed / emergency
- Travel up to 25% of the time
Salary : $21 - $30
