Job Summary:
The Test Technician will support the operations of the Systems Integration Lab by ensuring proper setup, maintenance, and testing of complex integrated systems. This role involves working with a variety of hardware, software, and network configurations, testing and verifying the integration of these systems, and assisting engineers and other technicians with day-to-day lab activities. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on skills, be detail-oriented, and possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
Major Responsibilities:
- Set up and configure lab equipment, devices, and test environments according to test plans and engineering requirements. Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning.
- Identify and diagnose system failures or malfunctions during testing, working closely with engineers to isolate and correct issues.
- Set up and configure test equipment, instruments, and systems in accordance with predefined procedures. Ensure that all tools and test environments are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements during testing procedures. Recommend improvements to testing methods to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collect, record, and analyze test data to ensure systems meet specifications. Provide detailed reports on test results, identifying any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Assist engineers in integrating various subsystems into a cohesive solution. Perform initial and final verification of integrated systems to ensure functionality.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date test logs, including test plans, results, failure reports, and calibration records. Contribute to the development of test protocols and procedures.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of related experience in similar field of work.
Minimum Competencies:
- Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and software systems in an integrated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, schematics and procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with both hardware and software components.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training in LEAN manufacturing
Preferred Competencies:
- J-STD-001 Soldering Certified
- Experience with High Voltage Systems (>300 Volts)
- Experience with LabVIEW
- Experience with Motor controllers, PLCs
