Medical Biller Needed– Pediatric Dental Office (Back Office Role)
Full-Time | Massachusetts | Immediate Start
We’re seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Biller to join the back office team of a growing pediatric dental practice. This is an on-site, non-clinical position located within the dental office, but separate from patient care areas.
Position Overview:
As our in-house medical biller, you will play a vital role in keeping the financial operations of the practice running smoothly. You’ll handle a variety of tasks related to insurance reconciliation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payment Posting:
- Once payments are received, posting them to the appropriate patient accounts and reconcile them with the claims
Claim Submission:
- Prepare and submit dental claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Obtain pre-authorization for certain dental procedures.
Claim Follow-up and Resolution:
- Monitor the status of submitted claims and follow up with insurance companies on unpaid or denied claims.
- Investigate and appeal denied claims.
- Address patient inquiries regarding dental bills and payment arrangements.
Patient Billing and Collections:
- Generate patient statements and invoices for outstanding balances.
- Collect payments from patients and update their accounts.
Data Management and Accuracy:
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing information.
- Ensure compliance with billing regulations and guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and time management skills: To handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail: To ensure accuracy in billing and coding.
- Good communication skills: To interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, coding systems CDT, and insurance policies: To understand and process claims effectively.
- Proficiency in computer systems: To manage patient records and billing data.
- Math skills: To perform calculations related to billing and paymen
What We’re Looking For:
Prior dental experience is a plus, but not required
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Experience with insurance posting/reconciliation is highly preferred
A trustworthy, discreet, and detail-focused individual
Able to work independently in a small team environment
