What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Manager position at Kankakee Country Club?
We are looking for a skilled Bar Manager who will oversee the day-to-day operations of our bar. In this role, you will be responsible for managing inventory, creating, and maintaining, checklists, and ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service. You will also be expected to lead by example and motivate your team to meet and exceed our business goals.
$15.00 - $19.00 per hour tips
Duties
- Oversees the opening and closing checklists.
- Cash Handling, counting down drawers, making cash deposits.
- Maintains inventory.
- Initiates and maintains vendor relationships.
- Selects and purchases liquor and other supplies.
- Ensures bar is well-stocked and clean.
- Creates drink specials, and drink menus
- Oversees all bar operations for banquets and special events.
- Appropriately delegates tasks to staff.
- Trains, promotes, and, when necessary, disciplines staff.
- Uses point-of-sale tracking technology and bar and restaurant management platforms.
- Show proof of Basset’s and food handler’s card
Requirements
- Proven experience as a bar manager or similar role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
- In-depth knowledge of beverage and food service
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations
- Proven experience in bar management or similar role
- Valid certification Basset’s and Food Handler’s card
- Knowledge of inventory management and cost control
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
